How to test the polarity of a RCA speaker output in a car radio?

On RCA cables, the wire connected to the central pin of the plug is positive. Negative is connected to the plug shell or barrel. In RCA's that use coaxial cable, the shell is connected to chis ground on both ends of the cable providing a "shield" from induced electrical fields (noise) from reaching the center conductor carrying the signal.
