My husband has left me for his 1st wife, we rent a council house, can he take half of my possessions?

He left me around 6 weeks ago, he has admitted he is back with her, living with her, i have had no financial support from him since literally ever, yet i know he earns and works, i have given every shred of his personal items back, clothing, pics etc and even now i am not resentful of his actions as he has 2 kids that he wanted to be part of his life so much but I am concerned about losing what is in my home, i recently lost my job through takin time off over the split as we were going through ivf for the 3rd attempt at the time, i also have helpf from outreach support workers in my area for him being a substance abuser because each time we have a fight he would drink (fights usually over him not wanting to give his son boundaries and support me as a husband should, we got custody of his son in 2007) and they have been helping me since the start of the split, i am now trying to get evidence for his adultery so that i can do this through courts and i know it is difficult but am pretty sure his ex-wife/girlfriend will brag if i contact her as she has pursued me on a social networking site already, i just want this to be over, I have removed him from the electoral register and the rent account and now I am worried about the contents of my home, even though he says he doesn't want anything, that could chnge and also my dogs, and other pets, I have been the main carer for them also and love them and would be heartbroken if he was allowed to take half of them, we have 6 bullmastiffs and they are all family, mam and 5 kids!! Please some advice and no harsh words about my hubby, hes a weak person and his ex has took advantage of a bad situation between us (she was violent towards him and committed adultery when with him)
